Community Service

Best Buddies

This past semester our chapter was fortunate enough to work with Best Buddies. Best Buddies is an American non-profit organization that creates opportunities for individuals to volunteer their time to build friendships with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Food At First

Our brothers are regular participants in Food at First, a local food shelter that serves meals to those in need in the Ames area. Brothers prepare meals, serve them to the attendees, and provide janitorial services for the events.

Highway Clean

Every semester our community service chairman organizes a designated highway clean-up for our chapter. This event involves brothers picking up trash and helping clean up the roadside along Highway 30 outside Ames.

Campus Involvement

Iowa State Ivy Student Council

Brother Mark Rapp is a member of the Iowa State Ivy College of Business Student Council. The Ivy Student Council acts as a liaison between the Iowa State University Ivy College of Business faculty/staff and the Ivy College of Business students in order to create a professional and inviting environment. Mark represents the Ivy College of Business and our chapter at various college and university functions, such as Experience Iowa State, Homecoming, and Business Week. Brother Rapp also serves on the Interfraternity Council as VP of Programming alongside Brother Jack Daus as further explained below.

Iowa State INTERFRATERNITY COUNCIL

The 29 Interfraternity Council (IFC) chapters at Iowa State are governed by a peer-elected undergraduate board of 12 officers, currently led by our own Brother Jack Daus. Brothers Daus, Rapp, and fellow officers serve the community through leadership workshops, chapter development, service projects and recruitment. The IFC is supported by the Office of Sorority and Fraternity and collaborates with the Collegiate Panhellenic Council, Multicultural Greek Council and National Pan-Hellenic Council through all-Greek initiatives, strategic planning and support of the fraternity and sorority community.
